Vision & Role
This project was designed and developed during my time at Muze Studio, in collaboration with the Waves Audio team. I led the UX/UI design from concept to launch, working closely with a talented cross-functional team. I'm thankful to Muze for the opportunity to help bring such a meaningful product to life.
Waves Online Mastering makes professional audio mastering accessible to all creators, simplifying a traditionally complex and costly process. My focus was to translate that complexity into a user-friendly experience across web and mobile — combining creativity with clarity.

Balancing Simplicity with Control
Accessibility vs. depth: Making professional mastering easy to use, while offering enough depth and control for experienced users.
Trust through design: Building a clean, high-end interface that aligns with the credibility of the Waves brand.
Fluid experience: Creating intuitive flows for uploading, mastering, referencing, exporting, and sharing music.
Cross-platform consistency: Ensuring a fully responsive experience across desktop and mobile with visual and functional coherence.

Musical Intelligence, Simplified
Through extensive interviews and testing with musicians, we identified four core mastering parameters that provide flexibility without overwhelming the user:
Style: Natural or Modern — controls the overall character, from warm and organic to polished and refined.
Tone: Deep or Present — shapes the tonal balance, emphasizing bass or clarity.
Dynamics: Sharp or Blunt — determines the punchiness and impact of the final sound.
Reference Matching: Lets users upload a reference track and match their mastering to its sound signature.
These creative, user-friendly terms were visualized through tactile UI elements that encouraged experimentation. They helped users interact with complex audio technology in a way that felt natural and empowering.

What We Achieved & What I Learned
The product launched successfully with strong adoption and enthusiastic feedback from both users and internal stakeholders. It allowed Waves to step confidently into the AI-audio space, delivering a powerful yet approachable tool that serves the needs of musicians at every level.
This was also one of the most ambitious and fulfilling projects I’ve led. It challenged me to blend technical complexity with creative empathy, and to design a product that genuinely empowers its users. From building scalable systems to translating audio theory into intuitive UI — this experience strengthened my ability to lead, adapt, and elevate product vision through thoughtful design.
Seeing artists use the platform as part of their real-world creative process has been one of the most rewarding outcomes of my career.
